Mr. Zhou's main practice areas are banking, real estate, liquidation and restructuring of companies, litigation and arbitration, etc..
Mr. Zhou began his legal practice in 1994 and has practiced ever since. He has provided professional legal services to dozens of local and overseas banks, financial institutions and companies, in transactions involving over 12 billion yuan RMB. Mr. Zhou has represented many creditor banks in the recovery, handling of non-performing assets, debt restructuring, or bankruptcy and liquidation work of Guangzhou International Trust and Investment Company, Hainan Huitong, Dalian Securities, Asia Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd., Gansu Securities, Nongkai Group, Delong Group, Zhuojing Group and Taiyue Group, and has accumulated rich practical experience. Among the several hundred economic disputes and litigation cases handled by Mr. Zhou, there are successful cases where court decisions were overturned on appeal in favour of the client.
Mr. Zhou has also acted as permanent legal advisor for many government agencies in the Central Government, such as the Government Offices Administration of the State Council, Central Government State Organ Civil Servant Residence Construction Services Center and The Ministry of Culture Organ Services Bureau. He also provides legal services for these government agencies in litigation and the acquisition and construction of government offices and civil servant residences.
Mr. Zhou became the founding partner of Guo & Partners in 2001. Prior to this, he worked for 10 years in the legal department of Hua Xia Bank Co., Ltd., Hainan Branch of People’s Bank of China, and Hainan Branch of China Agricultural Bank, and as part-time attorney in Jinyu Law Firm.
Mr. Zhou Jinlong graduated from the Department of Law at Nankai University with an LL.B. degree in 1992, and obtained his J.M. degree at the University of International Business & Economics in 2002. Mr. Zhou was admitted to the Chinese bar in 1994 and was awarded the qualifications of Enterprise Legal Advisor, Trademark Agent and Independent Non-executive Director. Mr. Zhou is fluent in English.
